The inspiration for the lyrics of all songs on the EP are driven by apprehension and uncertainty regarding our changing climate. The Captain and the Queen examines this theme on an individual level, illustrating the overwhelming influence anxiety can have on one’s behaviours – in particular among family and loved ones. Blind analyses society’s understanding of climate change and its impacts, suggesting that some of the information provided on the topic is misleading, and posing the question of how ready are we all to start making individual changes for the greater good of our planet?
Lyrics
I apologise for being delayed
In saying all the things that I should say
But my mind won’t work in its usual way
So I apologise for being delayed
I have fallen victim to what’s being said
By the captain inside of my head
Now there’s actions reflecting the bullshit being fed
By the captain inside of my head
And you know it’s you who pulls me through…
You know it’s you who makes my world
I’m the luckiest man that could ever be heard
You know it’s you who makes my world
I’m the luckiest man that could ever be heard
And you know it’s you who pulls me through…
